Feature Request - Statistics #82

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. there is no problem - it's all feature-requests right here ;)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would like to have some kind of statistic function.
i.e.
the app could store & display which abbreviation was used how often - how many
expansions happened & how many keystrokes a user saved using autokey

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Linux Ubuntu 10.04 - appversion: 0.61.7

There are some issues with this. We actually used to have a feature like this
but it got removed when the scripts feature was added. The problem is that with
scripts, you have no way of knowing how many keystrokes were saved because the
script can do anything at all. I will probably put this on hold for now.

The basic idea is interesting (without the keystrokes saved part - see Chris'
comment). When a user, particularly one who is part of a team, wants to
evaluate how often something is used - to see how important it is to fix or
enhance it - having some numbers to add to a justification would be useful.
