Hey Amanda thanks for getting this pull request open. Sounds like you are doing great so far with the Git commands. When we talk about Git, that is the application that is controlling the versions for us not GitHub. GitHub works hand in hand with Git, it stores the files we track with Git, it shows us the differences between them and allows us to work on the same files as our team members. Let me know if this doesn't help clear things up with you, you can always reach out to any of the consultants to talk about it one on one as well.
