Policy relevance section missing?

Country members are interested in finding out how data mobilized through GBIF can help them to meet the commitments made in recent years to slow the loss of biodiversity and to use biological resources more sustainably.

In the current portal, we have a policy relevance page that summarizes GBIF's contribution towards CBD, IPBES and GEO BON: http://www.gbif.org/using-data/policy-relevance

I can't find such a page in the new portal - is it missing?

In the current portal, the policy relevance section is inside the using data section, which is targeted at researchers not at national governments. This can be seen here: http://www.gbif.org/what-is-gbif#doforyou

I would hope a policy relevance page can be added to the new portal, and that gets added to a more appropriate section targeted at national governments. How about inside a "What can GBIF do for you" child menu item under the "About" parent menu item?

I have some feedback to share on the topic from the recent meetings

Not sure if or when you could get to this, but you're definitely the subject matter expert here @timhirsch .

I actually see it as part of a rejig of the 'become a member' page, as that has a rather half-hearted go at 'why join', while the content of the old 'policy relevance' part would more logically be a companion page - in other words, a 'why' and 'how' approach to 'Joining GBIF' with governments as the primary target. It also spills over into a better 'who we work with' or partnerships page that would pick up some of the more detailed landscaping around CBD, IPBES, GEO BON etc. So I could have a go at three pages along these lines, if @kcopas can think how this would best work in navigation. Make sense?

Always easier to reduce and condense than expand. Don't know what I'll label it yet, but happy to have occasion to try.

OK let's make content the first step - I will divide up text into what I think are logical sections, and you can decide whether best to keep it a single page or split up.
