cannot open multiple tabs

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Open a page with more than one link
2.open a link with Alt+number (loading tabs on background has to be activated)
3.try to open a second link with Alt+(other number)

What is the expected output?
two tabs with the different links should be open)

What do you see instead?
only the first tab is opened

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

0.5.2.2 (Ubuntu 10.04)
