Another option is to work with the browser's native Print functionality as per
Issue 183.

I think I should stress how very important that a user should be able to print
the
content of what is showing on Google Earth plugin through the browser. At the
moment, it comes out as blank/black spot on paper. In order for the Google
Earth
plugin to be as ubiquitous just like Google Maps, Mapplet etc. a user must be
able
to print the content via the browser.

Recently, I went to a trade show and presented our upcoming product which uses
Google
Earth plugin. One of the very popular questions is if the browser can print the
content of what is showing on Google Earth plugin. At the moment, what gets
printed
is nothing where the plugin is i.e. black spot. As such, I would highly
recommend the
developers consider and make this print ability a reality in the very near
future.
Until everyone has a mobile device compatible with the Google Earth Plug-in,
people
still need to be able to print off a map so they can hop in their car and use
it.
You may contact me regarding our survey.

As an alternative to support a printing method it would be sufficient for me if
I
had a handle to the plugin window.
GE standalone has a COM method GetRenderHWnd - the activex plugin does not have.
(This request is specific for the Windows version aka plugin_ax.dll)

It would be great to have a print control in the GE API. Integrated in some
Computer
Aided Decision Tool, print support will become a mandatory need.

I can do this using the .net library I made - you can see here:
http://code.google.com/p/winforms-geplugin-control-library/
(The GEWebBrowser screen grab button...) However, It would be great if there
were
something in the Api or if the native browser controls worked.

I want to echo this enhancement request. The application I working on is not
live
yet but once it's live to the public I'd assume printing is the first thing
they ask.

saves
screenshot as an image (jpg/png) to a specified location :)

Direct print through the browser is badly needed. Currently people have to cut
and paste screenshots which is a major pain.

There has not been an update on this for a while. Does that mean that this
feature will never happen? This is the only thing holding us back from using
the earth api more.

It seems that google folks don't care about it at all!
They tell me GE is on its way out of the market.
Are they right?

Will we be able to print/save some kind of image of what is visible in the GE

I'd like to have this functionality as well. I'm creating a free application
for pilots (www.glacierlandings.com) that illustrates approach paths for
difficult landing places in the mountains. A printout would be very helpful for
flight preparation and certainly much appreciated by all pilots. Could save
lives up there in the air..
