StyleMap tag support in Google maps #98

What should this feature enhancement do?
I would like to see the rollover (highlight) effects supported in Google
Maps just as it is in Google Earth. 
It is very useful for the user to quickly identify the icon in focus when
rolling over closely spaced icons with the mouse.

Are there any known workarounds that produce the similar results?
Not than I am aware of
