on the desktop version I ‘replace' the (‘current') Playing Now episode with either an episode from the Up Next list or with one the main list in the center; that seems always to work in this latest version, thanks :)
I synch macOS and iOS versions. That sometimes needs to be done more than once to get the iOS version to reflect both changes to the the new overall playing order (what’s now in ‘Playing Now’ and what’s now in ‘Up Next’)
in iOS I now see the ’newly promoted’ Playing Now episode… I don’t think it has a (new/different) playback position because I’ve only just put it into Playing Now; it plays OK
but it’s when the newly-promoted Playing Now episode finishes and my listening (again, on iOS) should resume at the place where I had previously left off in what was in Playing Now but is now in Up Next that I have lost where I was and am taken to the beginning of this second episode.
Investigate to see if the "mark as played" action is occurring on this episode when demoted and resets the current playback position. Or is the previous position not being saved correctly?
