Add flag to fail if code for a CTD cannot be created #186

Not sure if this is present. Helps to find errors (e.g. in CI).

I made this default now. See #187

Could still be improved. But now at least reading errors are reported and generation fails, if so.

But I guess we get rid of static code generation soon anyway.
