This feature uses a custom model for quickly/accurately applying changes to files. We can't bill inference for that model to an API key.
Gotcha, which model? Can I run it locally?

Some projects like ChatGPT or Aider, just allow choosing any model for that purpose - either in the OpenAI or Anthropic. And it works. So honestly I don't see any technical reason not to allow doing the same thing in Cursor. Or is this a business decision to make users switch to the paid Pro version? I mean, I totally understand people want to earn money and I'm ok with that, I'm just curious if you have any plans to just add support for OpenAI / Anthropic for this specific purpose, or not
This was a massive bait and switch...
I'm trying to use the composer to edit files and no matter what i do I get the same error
API key not supported. For this feature, API keys are not supported. Please upgrade to Pro.
I have a valid OpenAI API key, I haven't hit my monthly limit and it has full access.
I can see that that the key is being used. Why do i need a pro subscription to use this feature?
