[Panel] New Icons #2209

We can use emoji but it's a good idea to add some icons that are used very often.

You can add new icons under this issue/idea.

We already have a facebook and twitter icon available. For SEO the search icon probably works best. It's hard to tell what you would use instead.

I find it really hard to come up with something for block or section. Do you have some ideas for this?

I needed a Bitcoin icon recently. It can represent crypto assets in general, so it has a broader use case.

However, in my opinion, you should try to make icons extensible by some mechanism. While having common icons in core is useful, it would be very handy if you could add icons specific to your use case.

[Off-subject] Maybe it was answered before, but why Font Awesome is not integrated to Kirby anymore ?

@julien-gargot because it's a huge icon set and so many of those icons are not used in the end by the majority of all users. It didn't feel right to include 500kb of icons or even more.

@hdodov adding custom icons in plugins is definitely on top of our todo list.

You're definitely right about icons size for performance. Icons plugin would be great.

@bastianallgeier right now I'm using the 'text' icon for 'section' lists - not ideal, but kind of works. The Noun Project has some ideas for 'block' icons, here, which may be useful.

@nilshoerrmann I agree with you. We can add favorite/frequently used icons. Already, @bastianallgeier announced that the icons in plugins feature will come soon.
