What

Want to participate in the gitcoin + MSFT hackathon in April, but don't have the time to code yourself!

Earn crypto by referring others to the hackathon. If they win, then you could receive up to $500 in DAI.

Rules:

  1. Browse Bounties here => https://gitcoin.co/hackathon/ethereal-virtual-hackathon/
  2. See a bounty that one of your network might like? Share it with your network!
  3. If someone you refer wins the hackathon, then you win some DAI too!
  4. The prize pot will be split amongst the winners' referrals.

How prizes will be distributed

There will be dozens of bounty winners, one for each sponsor bounty.

If 1 person refers a bounty winter, then all $500 will go to them. If 2 people refer a bounty winter, then they will get $250 each. If 3 people refer a bounty winter, then they will get $500/3 each. .. and so on.

How to create a reflink

Take any URL for gitcoin.co and append ?utm_source=[your_github_username]&utm_medium=ref to it.

So for example, if I were creating a reflink for this bounty, it would look like this:

https://gitcoin.co/issue/gitcoinco/skunkworks/92/2806?utm_source=owocki&utm_medium=ref

How to share with your network

You may share with your network in two different ways.

First way: Make a post on a social network (like twitter)

Example tweet:

Checkout this bounty for the Ethereal Hackathon. Might be a good fit for anyone who can code and is looking to make some extra DAI

https://gitcoin.co/issue/gitcoinco/skunkworks/92/2806?utm_source=owocki&utm_medium=ref

Second way, specific asks to your friend, whom you know might be a fit.

Direct 1:1 shares tend to convert higher than 1:many shares. For that reason, we recommend you spend some time looking at your network and seeing who might be a fit for the bounty.

For example, my friend Piper is a really great python dev. I found a python bounty or two taht might be good for him.

Example copy below.

Hey Piper,

I know you're always looking for different ways to learn more about the python ecosystem.

Checkout this bounty for the Ethereal Hackathon. When I saw it I thought of you. Might be a good fit if youre looking to make some extra money.

@owocki would this kind of link work: https://gitcoin.co/hackathon/ethereal-virtual-hackathon/?utm_source=[your_github_username]&utm_medium=ref ? Or utm_source should be appended to some real issue to be catched? Asking as its sounds more reasonable to distribute link to hackathon issues list, rather then single issue.

owocki commented 5 years ago

@gutsal-arsen thanks for asking (and sorry for the slow response) -- yes that link works -- as long as it's a valid GET param

@tina1998612 did anyone of your friends owrk on it?
