I wrote a small tool to automatically correct the codepage/line width mismatch. It isn't perfect, but does work for the manually OCRed file.

That's fantastic! Thank you so much. I've read over the code and I like it, but I want to run the code a bit before merging it in and I won't get a chance to until after $WORK. I'll swing 'round to it first thing this evening.

We'll have to check back on the line-unsplitting logic once larger chunks of the file are transcribed (and of course again once it's all done) but this is very useful right now.
