What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.APM 2.5 with Arduplane 2.78b on HK Sky Eye => Tail spin and negative pitch
till crash in stabilize & auto mode
2.The recovery action only by putting the APM in manual mode
3.My suggest to fix that issue in APM code: When fly in any flight mode except
manual mode, when the pitch value exceeds a set negative value ( let's say
minus 75-80 degrees descent rates - in other words, the plane put the nose down
and spin ) the code should disable the command (the compensation ) to the
aileron channel (by putting the aileron in manual mode) , until the pitch value
reach a decent value for a normal fligh . In that way , I say that the APM will
do exactly the action that I do to recover when the plane is in tail spin =>
Fast change to manual mode and try to level the plane using the elevator.
BTW , I had the same issue at all flight controlers that I used, but in this
case, using the open source APM's feature, maybe we can get rid of this problem
flight.
