Can't install Google Earth

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Downloading Google Earth

What is the expected output or behavior? What do you see instead?
Install. Error messages.

Which plugin version are you using?
Unknown.

Which browsers and operating systems are affected?
Unknown.  Using Firefox/Google.

I tried to download Google Earth. I got the message could not find 
dl.google.com.
Tried again, now it looks like it loaded and tried to execute and got this 
message:

The procedure entry point DecodePointer could not be located in the dynamic 
link library KERNEL32.dll

found kernel32.dll and renamed it KERNEL32.dll.  the install went but won't 
execute.  still get same DecodePointer message

Just wanted to note that it is VERY hard for an inexperienced user to find this 
help area.  Tried another area that indicated it was GOOGLE and found nothing 
from this year.  Other pages did not load.

Windows 7 Ultimate

The installed Google Earth has been uninstalled and since that I can't 
reinstall this program as well as the plug-in.

When I run the setup program it says:

GoogleEarth-Win-Bundle-6.2.2.6613:error
unable to create folder "C:\Users\mb\AppData\Local\TemC:"
Syntax error in the filename or foldername...

What's the matter?
