What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. run gedit with GTK_IM_MODULE=xim
2. type something with IM and switch to none and back again
3. close gedit
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
it sometimes happens. but not always it seems. the root cause is that the
instance of the client connection (to the XIM server) becomes invalid
before destroying the connection to the application.
