Option to make fanart #4

How do I imagine this? Like, when a movie is playing, I press pause then I
press (i) on RC and I select this option from context menu: Use this still as
fanart.

Not a bad idea - but most users won't be happy with the image quality I guess.
However, I was thinking about something similar for covers already - especially
for collections with a lot of "non movies" - like documentaries or private
videos.

Is it not possible to use the 'Take Screenshot' feature of MediaPortal to do
this? F11 on keyboard and can be mapped to any remote key. It is what I use
constantly to create screenshots for Wiki.

You do not even need to pause the video (thus avoiding OSD or pause display) if
you don't want to.

The screenshots/image files are automatically added to a MediaPortal folder in
your Windows Pictures folder, with subfolders by date.

Fanart grabber actually grabs lots of movie stills. In some rare cases, when
there's no any fanart, stills are more than enough.

MePo may has this screenshot feature, but it won't help now. Maybe if plugin
would have this option: "Use your latest screenshot as fanart"?

We're talking about an advanced plugin - so my opinion is:
IF we want to add such a feature, it should offer good quality too.
This from my point of view, such a fanart has to be created e.g. by the MTN
utility - because that is automatically making sure, a proper position without
too much movement will be taken.
However, the question is how the user interface could be for that - I will have
to check, if it is possible to give movie position as a parameter (or calculate
necedssary things) - so it could be offered in the context menu.
This would imho be a nice solution - although the better solution would be,
that users would update TMDB, so all users could benefit from it...

I uploaded over 250 fanarts to htbackdrops (for fanarthandler). In a couple of
months, 40% of them are gone. Although I understand why, I've done doing like
that for good.

I think there's no need to overcomplicate this. Choosing latest screenshot
would be enough. When that screenshot is crap, user make an other one, and
plugin just replaces the old one by the new one. And so on... :)

Added fanartcreator by using MTN utility to allow shots and multiimages.
