Froyo Beta2: WiFi not always working or turnin on / power drain issue

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Boot WinMo / Start Haret to run Android
2. Go to settings / enable WiFi

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Wifi is not always turning on. When you can turn on, sometimes doesn't connect 
to selected hot-spot (or even turns off!!). When you can connect, sometimes it 
is not possible to navigate.
When WiFi is turned on (even if not connected) overheating occurs, and power 
drain rate pull battery to 0 in about an hour (from 100% charge).

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Android Froyo 2.2 Beta2 on GT-I8000 with JJ1 ROM / PHONE version.

Please provide any additional information below.
Succeded to connect to a WEP protected hot-spot only once, navigation enabled, 
after having rebooted to WinMo, turned on WiFi and then booted Android with 
Haret (but worked only once)...

Working on WPA/WPA2 PSK. In my case, still WEP protection didn't work. Weird...

Fails at  connect to a WPA/WPA2 PSK network (Wifi disconnect automatically), 
work perfect with WEP..
