FR: Identify text based error in diff e.g. typos, gibberish, cursing etc. #237

Hello, First, thanks for creating this tool. ;) Would it be possible to also add a way in order to find main typographic errors in wikipedia articles ? A little like what the AutoWikiBrowser (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Typo_Team) but directly in a browser? Thanks in advance ;)

First of all, congrats on opening up this issue. We love this kind of feature! But here we'd like to clarify that WikiLoop Battlefield at this point is focusing on "reviewing/patroling" and reverting existing edits. Identifying existing typos and creating a new edit like AWB, is not currently in WLBF's roadmap. But we do like to have feature that identify typos when the edit being reviewed add new typos. Are you interested in that?

Hi, Thanks for the explanations. I appreciated. Please note that beside the few things I have read about it yesterday, I have never tested AutoWikiBrowser ! Anyway, I think it would be great if typos are shown in WikiLoop Battlefield. ;) Thanks in advance ;)

Hello, You may be interested to see what another project is done on this field : WiPeR (beta) https://wiper.toolforge.org/#/ See also their about page.

FYI, here is a video example of how I use Wiper with French Wikipedia : https://streamable.com/6r5583 (note this was a few days before a new release which highlights suggestion much better). Here is also a detailed comparison Wiper's way versus simple Wikipedia searches which leads to correct only specific double typos https://github.com/bperel/wiper/issues/3#issuecomment-668435476

In spelling corrections imho you also have to check : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WPCleaner https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Typo_Team/moss
