1 year ago Sadly, the main hurdle is that xfwm4 doesn't support horizontal patterns like the 98-2K gradient; it would be possible with another WM, though. I just made a [feature request] on the XFCE4 gitlab to see if this can change in the future.

Just beginning to look into this myself. Really want to get a Windows 2k look on my system. Sorry to just hurl a comment into here but a Memphis theme sure would be amazing.
::EDIT:: I actually finished some reading. Redmond doesn't use XFCE4 for the effect. Nevermind me.
To get the gradient titlebars shown in the screenshots you will need to use a window manager that supports metacity-1 themes such as marco. If you are using XFCE4 and want to use the metacity-1 themes you can run the following command to replace XFWM4 with marco. (You may need to install marco)

1 week ago I just took a look at the XFCE4 feature request and it appears that they have added support for horizontal patterns like the 98-2K gradient.
This feature may now be possible due to the added functionality of the upstream XFCE4 project.

Yeah there is a feature upcoming in XFCE 4.20 that will allow for stretched bitmaps for the window decorations in XFWM, so a Windows 9x/Classic theme horizontal gradient will be possible.
The feature is backwards compatible, so it would be fine to make the theme now (testing against XFCE upstream, if you're happy to compile or whatever) without breaking anything for users on <= 4.18.

Is there any chance to see a Memphis98 variant of this theme? The differences shouldn't be too huge; mostly with the gradients in the title bars and some graphics.
