Description As mentioned by @arisgk, we need to update name of framework to be more consistent with Universe.

I am going to go with "Meta" for the time being.. I'll keep this issue open though and we can make the change later if need be..

Gravity is good but we found out that there is a conflict with a "Gravity Framework".

I am fine with Meta but I believe it doesn't trigger a connection with Universe brand easily.

My favorite alternatives until now are

Nebula (star factory)
Hydrogen (the most common element in the universe)

I can see that for sure.

Liking Nebula and Meta so far the most. Hydrogen, although the most common element, might not trigger a connection with the brand right away as well.

I'd like to throw in:

Atom, Nucleus, Proton, Neutron, Electron -- as the basic building blocks of the universe
- yes, nowadays we new that atoms aren't really atomic (in the sense of the origin of the word), but the concepts around quarks aren't that widely known
Axiom -- as the smallest possible rule (or set of rules)
every other cool science concept / law of nature -- as this simply matches well (there are many possible names / concepts)
Fundament -- not really related to universes, but though matches somehow

I'd also like to mention that it's probably wise to rename this from meta to universe-meta. When people fork this it'll become vsund/meta (or when they clone it just a directory named meta).

The following names are taken:

Atom is an IDE
Nucleus is an icon app
Electron is a framework
Axiom is Cryptokitties parent company

The reasoning behind having it just be “Meta” on it’s own is because, I don’t want the framework to be a “Universe” specific product. Think of Bootstrap. It was started by twitter and technically twitter owns it but you don’t think about that.. same thing for React. I am just about to push a logo and brand for it as well.

I like how the conversation unfolds. I’d like to offer my two cents too. First off, “Nebula” and “Meta” both sound good to me.

However, my proposal would be the word “Matter” for the following reasons:

I’m a fan of two-syllable names, as they’re easier to recall and throw into a conversation
According to google, one of the words meanings is: “(in physics) that which occupies space and possesses rest mass, especially as distinct from energy”. That would fit well into our take that this framework is what comprises a dapp UI, in direct correlation that matter is what universe is made of.
A quick google search didn’t reveal uses of this term as a noun in the crypto space; most articles seem to use the word in its verb form (eg. Why does blockchain matter)
Uses all of the letters in the word “Meta” 😀

I’m already seeing the blog post titles: Build a dapp using Matter 😀

Aris [5:24 PM Nov 15th] Also, I feel its name is kinda long, maybe consider something universe-related (nebula, particle, matter etc)?

But unfortunately there are 2 "Matter" frameworks. 🙃
