Awesome work! this is the biggest new year gift I've received.
Althought it doesn't work perfectly, you may want to mention about the gconf
key for
enabling and disabling the gtk-module at
`apps/gnome-settings-daemon/gtk-modules/globalmenu-gnome`
(aka: no more need to edit .gnomerc)
Or maybe we also want to add the key to the gconf dialog?

The key is added to the gconfdialog, the installation is simplified:
(1) install the package,
(2) add the panel applet,
(3) right click, preferences,
(4) click on the check box near 'enable global menu'.
