Default Menubar? #619

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

At one time, the globalmenu panel applet would display the Nautilus desktop
menubar when a window without a GTK compatible menubar was active. Is this
feature ever going to return? (even as an option)

I feel it improved the aesthetics of the global menubar quite a bit.

I'm not sure if this is the proper approach, but attached is a patch that, if
the current window has no global menubar, will fall back to the desktop
menubar. I've only tested this on a single monitor setup with Nautilus running,
so i have no idea how well it works in other configurations. This patch also
doesn't make the feature optional for those who prefer the menubar stay black
with non-globalmenu windows. The bolded Application Name field will also read
"Desktop" when a non-globalmenu windows is active. Patch applies to current Git
master
