Jellyfin file naming #803

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. To get the downloaded episodes to show up correctly in Jellyfin they have to be renamed first. I tried using the default naming but all episodes I tested had the wrong metadata. I know there is the Kodi option for file names but that format is also not supported according to the Jellyfin documentation.

Describe the solution you'd like I would like to have a Jellyfin naming option like there is for Kodi. One supported format is "{title of the show} S{season number} E{episode number}". Other formats can be found here.

Describe alternatives you've considered Currently I am bulk renaming downloaded episodes using PowerToys PowerRename.

Did Jellyfin give the wrong metadata or are the filenames wrong?

One supported format is "{title of the show} S{season number} E{episode number}".

This is also supportet by the downloader, the checkboxes are order sensitive. You are also free to set the season and episode prefix and also add 0 to the numbers.

Jellyfin associated the wrong metadata with the files. It thought the first 10 episodes of Fairy Tail were all the first episode. I mistakenly put a space between the season number and end the E, I did not mean to. Thinking more about it, it would be nice if it were possible to specify the formatting yourself like with the String.Format method in vb.net. That way anyone could create a fitting file name format for their own media storage solution independent of the software they use.

It is.

the checkboxes are order sensitive.

This means (with exception of the Kodi naming that is always at the front) you can change the order with the way you add the check boxes.

You can feel free to try add you own option(s).

Will do, as soon as I have time for that.

Have no problems with Jellyfin here. The question is, what plugin do you use with Jellyfin? I recommend thetvdb ... then you will also find the assignment to the anime.
