Which encryption type do we use #264

When it comes to which encryption type we should use for backup, which do we choose?

The backup program we are using allows us two choices:

More could be added by forking the project and adding our own drivers for the encryption, but that seems a bit hardcore for our purposes.

OpenSSL

Data Portility

To make it portable for windows we could release a package that users unzip onto their thumb drive and use for decrypting and re-encrypting their backups.

Application Portability

OpenSSL i already installed an in use on the server so it would make sense to use and existing component in the current system.
