Sipdroid 1.2.1 - When compression over edge enabled always - Force Closes #222

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Edge Voice Compression set as "always active"
2. Dial a call
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected output is to complete a call. Instead, sipdroid force closes
after the call is dialed just before the connection completes. If I turn 
off the "always active" compression for edge the calls are fine. If 
compression is enabled for Edge calls only, calls are fine. This only 
occurs if you leave compression setting as "always active"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Sipdroid 1.2.1 and Cyanogen 4.2.7

Which SIP server are you using? What happens with PBXes?
Exists on Pbxes, Sipsorcery & Sipsorcery Local Version. I have not tried 
any others

Which type of network are you using?
T-mobile 3G & Home Wifi

Please provide any additional information below.

I was interested in seeing if the new compression might resolve some sip 
provider issues I was having with codec negotiations (one way audio).

To elaborate on the above:

Network / Compression setting / Result
--------------------------------------

EDGE / (both) / Force close
3G / EDGE only / Works as expected
3G / Always active / Force close
WLAN / EDGE only / Works as expected
WLAN / Always active / Force close

On all these networks, things used to work fine before the compression feature 
was 
in.

This is on Eclair (2.0), with Sipdroid 1.2.1, with PBXes.

After additional testing, with voice compression on for Edge only, Incoming and 
outgoing calls cause Sipdroid to Force Close. Bottom line, voice compression 
does 
not work at all with my phone. G1 Dream Cyanogen Rom 4.2.7. With voice 
compression 
set to only edge I can use Sipdroid provided I do not drop into an edge 
connection. 
I will be downgrading to 1.1.8 until this is fixed.

Confirmed on g1 - cyanogen 4.2.7.1, Vivo Brazil

If I try calling from EDGE, always crash
If I try from 3g without compression, works fine
If I try from 3g forcing compression, always crash.

It seems that the compression code isn't able to run on my phone.
