A compilation of commits that were lying in downstream forks.

Unfortunately right now it doesn't work anymore in the latest OpenDingux, since we switched from the deprecated ifconfig/iwconfig to ip/iw. At some point we need to update it but it's still TBD.

You have a sysimg I can flash to test/update? I've got a little bit of time that I could try to update it.
