I have the exact error. How did you resolve?
I used a guy from Europe named Sima to remotely reprogram the unit. It was complex but he got it to work and coded it for Android auto, map update, etc.
It required buying a cheap set of removal tools to get the head unit out of the glovebox and a cable that I needed to connect to specific pins on the back of the head unit and to my laptop.
It probably took 3 to 4 hours as my unit kept giving us errors but he eventually fixed it and was pretty reasonable on price. I paid after the work was done.
Now that's its coded it works great along with a Motorola MA1 android auto wireless adapter.
His contact info is @.*** Or reach him on whatsapp at +381653086899.

Appreciate it. Cable and VW radio removal keys on the way. For those that have this in the future, you need to get a PL2303 USB TTL adapter with cable - 4 pins on the end, red, white, green, black.
My unit is fixed and fully updated. Thanks for the tip, could have been very messy otherwise.
Glad to hear it!

I'm applying the AOI update MHI2-US-POG24-K5136-1416 (from previous FW P4188-1139). I received a couple of errors during install which I retried a couple of times and eventually chose to skip device to continue through.
The errors were: -Error 242 "RCC.0" -Error 138 "spare part number list"
The PCM keeps freezing at an Emergency Assist Utility screen labeled RCC 5 of 6...
I have a basic backup of the FW I can use if needed. Any advice on how to move the update forward or to revert to the previous FW would be much appreciated.
