@HDembinski, @jpivarski, feel free to comment.

  1. Mentioning mplhep is a good idea, because these papers (mine included) tend to turn into documentation or a sales pitch for a software product. Anything we can do to broaden it is good. In this case, taking about mplhep extends the scope to nearby packages in the ecosystem.
  2. There are particular NSF grant numbers to include in the acknowledgements. I include DIANA/HEP and IRIS-HEP, I think you would only include IRIS-HEP.
  3. I believe that it is legal to include GSoC students in this paper (even though they couldn't have been included in the talk abstract, because of when things happened), and I have in fact done it. Check with Nino, though—sometimes people have reasons to not want to be included. Also, anyone who is an author (by virtue of contributing to the material) needs to at least get a chance to read the paper, and there isn't a very wide window left, considering Nino's timezone.

Sorry for the late response. Please tell me what I can do in the final sprint as soon as possible. @henryiii I see "Add example and plot for 1D and 2D", do you mean BH? Tell me how to add these.

If you'd like to, I think we should have a simple example, like in https://boost-histogram.readthedocs.io/en/latest/notebooks/BoostHistogramHandsOn.html , with as little code as possible that would show a basic histogram. We need two plots to match the two code snippets, preferably saved as PDFs. They should be included just like the diagram is added. I can iterate if you want to drop them in. The text should clearly state that boost-histogram is not plotting, but it is easy to plot with Matplotlib.

After looking through the items above, I think I can also help to provide an example and figure of mplhep (perhaps the description of mplhep should be left to you), do you think it is necessary (i.e., mplhep code snippet and figure)? @henryiii

Feel free to give it a shot, that might be a good addition.
