This should be a lot broader than linking GenBank accessions to occurrence records (which can already be done, although the display needs to be improved). This is about what else scientists in our community, not HISCOM, would like to see in AVH with respect to molecular data.
Better?

See #87 for the current work towards this goal.

MEL and CHR are already using the unique identifier from Genbank or other DNA storage service and deliver them with a FQDN as a URI in data exchange.
Exchange using https://dwc.tdwg.org/terms/#dwc:associatedSequences (as is already done by ALA)
Specify database schema version 2.4 adds support for GGBN tissue and DNA data. See https://www.specifysoftware.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Specify-Schema-Update-v2.4-Context.pdf.
ALA 2 projects - Australian Genome Atlas (link species to sequences), some herbaria already have links. Kathryn Hall is project manager. Would be good to get her to talk to HISCOM about the project. CSIRO project - National Biodiversity DNA Libray - doing sequences.
Following on from #44 and #53, document what HISCOM's preferred technical specification is for the linking of Genbank accessions to AVH occurrence records. The resulting document should be in HISCOM's Business wiki.
