Horos crashing with DCE plugin #440

Hi, I am looking at dynamic contrast enhanced MRI sequences with an OsiriX DCE plugin (http://kyungs.bol.ucla.edu/software/DCE_tool/DCE_tool.html) and I get frequent random crashes when creating signal intensity x time analyses with the plugin. Sometimes it works fine for 10 minutes and multiple analyses, sometimes it won't last 2 minutes. I couldn't find any patterns and what triggers the crashes. Any ideas? Not sure it could be issues with plugin compatibility with Horos?...

updating the post, I have now realized that the crashes actually happen even without launching the DCE plugin, just by drawing and renaming ROIs in the 4D view of a 3D dynamic contrast enhanced MRI sequence... I wonder if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions?

and I am under the impression that it is particularly when I try to edit the ROI's name and type "L", as weirdly as it seems..

My NAS was down during the night. Your Dropbox link worked fine. I tried to reproduce your bug: I selected all the series you provided, opened a 4D player, navigated the time and Z, drew a line roi, a rect roi, double clicked them, renamed them, typed L into the name field... No crash. Should it have happened or is there something more I should try? The crash report you provided isn't telling much either. We can only see that a keyboard event is being processed by the Combo Box, then something fails.

Have you already tried resetting the Horos prefs file? Quit Horos, remove the file at ~/Library/Preferences/com.horosproject.horos.plist (move to desktop for example) and relaunch Horos. If the problem no longer comes up, please send me the removed prefs file so I can look further.

Regarding you reproducing the problem, it doesn’t happen 100% of the time but very frequently, mostly by doing what you mentioned... would another crash report work?

Another crash report will likely show the same as the one you already provided. But let’s confirm that, if it crashes again ;)

I couldn't find a com.horosproject.horos.plist, but did find a org.horosproject.horos.plist; I moved it out of the folder but it still crashed... here are the crash reports from terminal and from ios... please let me know if you have any other suggestions or thoughts...

Please avoid copy-pasting big blobs :) better attach the .txt I just happened to have the same sort of error on another situation. It seems to b related with the amount of RAM needed by the operation. Do you have a chance to test the same procedure on another mac, ideally with 16GB or RAM? Next week I'll try your dataset on a 4GB macmini.

interesting, I actually did attach a txt and an rtf file rather than pasting it, might have been gmail's doing to show it as a pasted huge text...

unfortunately I do not have another Mac to test this on... one interesting thing is that the same issue doesn't happen with osiris lite, not sure why...

Please avoid copy-pasting big blobs :) better attach the .txt I just happened to have the same sort of error on another situation. It seems to b related with the amount of RAM needed by the operation. Do you have a chance to test the same procedure on another mac, ideally with 16GB or RAM?
