PowerVR graphical bugs #3267

I knew, it's only alpha, but im waiting so long time for this fixes, few months, or even more...

Hello, long time, im waiting for fix BLACK SCREEN bugs, for this game : Also i'm record video with this bug with GTA VCS, MC3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-A-okyrzzk

GTA: VCS - when i'm driving, sometimes screen is black Midnight Club 3, L.A. - black screen, when 3D.

But has only one build, there everything is absolutely OK: 0.8.1-429 I'm tested over 200 other build, with my iPad4, but only 0.8.1-429 worked absolutely good, with this games (GTA VCS/ Midnigt Club 3 & L.A)

Do you mean 0.8.1-430 start breaking ?

I see you disabled vertex cache in the youtube. Besides, these 2 games only work in buffered rendering mode . Non-buffered one is not gonna working just black screen as it requires render-to-texture.

Thanks for the answer. Like i say, i'm tested over 200 builds, and all the time, i'm checked all possible options on this games, buffered ON, and Vertex Cache too, but still got a black screen.

Only 0.8.1-429 absolutely worked, i can record new video, about that.

Is it not only iOS-devices trouble, in samsung galaxy s4 with powerVR SoC - black screen too (MC3, L.A)...

Please, fix it...

Then how about 0.8.1-430 , did it work or just black screen in your case? hopefully it is not alpha issue .......

I have only one iOS device (ipad4), and can't load any build, only once per few days, from karenxwind repo, got a new build for iOS. ..... Dear raven02, i'm created new video, there i'll show newest build for iOS (0.8.1-1682), and old, but worked build 0.8.1-429 (it's my backup :) ).

Please, watch this video to the end, and you will see, all ok in 429v.

Alright . Just watched the video and 429 seems to be okay on your ipad

Frankly speaking , it would be bit difficult to bisect since there are 1200+ commit behind .

:) So what am gonna do? Cuz, after 429 build, i'm tested more builds, every week 1-2 builds, but still got black screen in Midnight Club 3, L.A. and sometimes in GTA: VCS... Who can fix it?

You can specify a range while bisecting though.

I hope, you will fix this troubles, if you can... :) ...... Also, i can test any build, so if something's changes, i will write here, but like i say, for iOS - only few times per week, have new builds from karen http://ppsspp.angelxwind.net/?page/downloads#ios... .. Dear hrydgard, i cant, cuz didnt remember :(, but i think, 5 builds (new/old from 429))

I see some other users try to turn off Hardware Transform , not too sure if it's help in your case .

Dear developers Should I hope for the fixing of errors for the PowerVR? Today am update PPSSPP to 0.9.3-g0a9671d, but still black screen, and gta vcs too (but gta LCS working good) .... Maybe you should check differences with 0.8.1-429 and 0.8.1-480 (i remember, after 429 i'm update to 480 (or 482 build) and got this bugs... After that, nothing is changes, MC L.A., 3 still not working, and GTA VCS got a lags, like on my video up there... ................................................ Please, fix this bugs... I knew, this emulator, created mostly for windows and android, but on android has PowerVR users too, and iOS users very many, more than 10000 (or just ask karen about this, how many people download PPSSPP from her repo.

Hello, what news? Someone here say this: "I have that same problem in ATI GPU. Do you know how to make custom builds? Try changing framebuffer sizes in framebuffer.cpp, Try forcing it to 512x512 and see if that helps!" http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=5732 he's got trouble just like me

Hello again! Today, am updated to latest build for ios, it's 0.9.1-142... But still black screen on Midnight Club 3, MC L.A, and black screen lag on GTA VCS, just like before... :( Please, don't forget to fix this...

Yes I know, I've worked on other things.

This bug also affects Loco Roco on my Nexus S (which has PowerVR), so I finally have a fast way to reproduce the error to try and fix it.

Hi! Thanks for working on that! LocoRoco worked mostly fine, (This game working at full speed, without recording video) d 60/60 fps. Tested on latest iOS build (245). MC 3,LCS, VCS - nothing is changes...)

Dear Henrik, in logs 227 build, you say: "PowerVR: work around what appears to be a driver bug with equality test + discard, but not completely sure that discard isn't just broken.If this change breaks something, it was probably already broken, and it's PVR-only." - So, you can or can't fix PVR bugs? :( .... I hope you can :)

Hm, it looks like it still has some background glitches for you, almost looks like z-fighting...

Well, if there are bugs in the driver it's a matter of working around them rather than fixing them. I try...

Removed the spam. Updated title. I'm not sure if this is an issue about the PowerVR issues or the black screens caused by media engine? Made it a PowerVR issue anyway because there are heaps of media engine ones already.

Does that mean this issue is resolved, or are there still PowerVR-specific problems in Grand Theft Auto?

Black screens on most games on Power VR using buffered rendering are mostly gone(I think it was fixed more than a month ago)only ones left are stencil issues
