My own use-case of a BTRFS volume mounted at / without any @ or else wasn't supported anymore. An empty BTRFS subvolume prefix seems to model that best compared to e.g. /var being handled as subvolume name @var internally. This only needs some improvement in making leading slashes optional in some regular expressions etc.

No. I don't actually know that much about btrfs mounts 😅

I only set it up on one machine and haven't fiddled with it much after setting everything up.
