this completes the adjacency-8 started by tl(), tr(), br(), bl() and gives us the full adjacency set

and migrate the corner versions from affinity to here

affinity was different, it doesn't remove opposite padded row,col

I think it's just the corner vs centre difference - so needs a slightly different take
