Subscript out of Bounds #14

Closed Giamba89 closed 8 months ago

Giamba89 commented 1 year ago

Hello! I have built today snowCluster to run LDA with my data. However, the error message "subscript fuori limite" (italian for: "subscript out of Bounds") appears. I have also tried with Iris Data but it shows same error. However, results are visible. Can I consider them as correct? I am using macOS Ventura, Jamovi version 2.3.21.0, snowCluster 7.1.2. Thanks!

Dear Giamba89

Thanks for using snowCluster module. First, you should chceck whether jamovi and snowCluster module is newest version or not. and if not, update them.

LDA with iris data is running well on Win 10 now. image Best Seol

Giamba89 commented 1 year ago

Thanks for your answer. Jamovi and snowCluster module are newest. I think that is probably a problem related to MacOS. I am still not able to use it with iris data. Results are loading without any output (see the image here below). I will try soon with a Window environment!

I am on Mac OS and can't get the LDA to work at all (newest jamovi versions). It just spins, like in the screenshot from Giamba89

Dear bfmalle

Have you tried another analysis within snowCluster module with Mac OS or with Win OS?

you can try it with example file located in Open>Data Library>snowCluster folder.

Best Regards Seol

I have. Nothing working. Just spinning....

Dear bfmalle

Could you attach .omv file that happened error ? You might zip it up here.

bfmalle commented 1 year ago

Hello Seol,

Attached (zipper .omv) are the data I was trying to run (just as a demo, but it never gets off the ground...)

I am working with Version 2.3.21.0

Dear bfmalle

I can not find attached file. Coud you attach it again please?

Best Regards Seol

bfmalle commented 1 year ago

I had responded by email and attached it there; but here it is directly on github EEG example data copy.omv.zip

hyunsooseol commented 1 year ago

Dear Dear bfmalle

I attached omv file, which is working well with your example data on Win 10 OS. EEG example data copy.zip

To remedy this, you should check the newest version of snowCluster module(7.1.3) and jamovi.

and this error might be due to specific environment on your computer and should check it to other computer to see what happens with attached file.

Hello, I still encounter similar problems with LDA in snowcluster. I am using Win10, Jamovi 2.3.28 and snowcluster 7.1.7 . All uptodate. Dataset ist the iris dataset with 150 rows and 5 columns. "species" is defined as dependent variable. If I enter any of the two sepal-variables as first covariate, the error "subscript out of bounds" occurs. When I enter the second sepal-variable, this error disappears and the analysis is run completely. However, if in any stage I enter any petal-variable the error "Analysis stopped due to resource limits" occurs. It is not possible to run the analysis as kindly demonstrated by @hyunsooseol on Mar 6th. Thanks

hyunsooseol commented 1 year ago

Hi hhoermann

At least two independent(covariates) variables are required to run analysis in LDA.

hhoermann commented 1 year ago

Whow, many thanks for your swift reply. OK, I know 2 IVs required for LDA. This was only to describe how the error "subscript out of bounds" can be triggered. This other question remains, why a resource limit is reached, if I enter any of the petal-variables together with the sepal variables or w/o them. Could you please advise?

I am using WIN 10. Any questions?

hyunsooseol commented 1 year ago

Hi

That's not an error, it's an error message because the analysis options are not appropriate for that data. Not all analytics options can be applied to all data.

hyunsooseol commented 1 year ago

Hi hhoermann

Use the following iris example in jamovi.

hhoermann commented 1 year ago

Thanks for your advice. I can confirm that it works now smoothly with the onboard dataset. Greetings from Germany

... and BTW: the problems in my analysis were due to special characters in the variable names ;). I should not have renamed them
