Should we get rid of all barcodes on existing Registy parts? #54

This issue has come up twice so far (C0012 #51 , E1010). I'm of the belief that there is no need to carry these on as: a) there is no consistent usage of barcodes b) there is no change specific to the CDS (start -> stop) c) any expected changes would be to the mRNA (so the barcode may be another thing needed to factor in).

Thoughts?

Changes to the mRNA may have an impact on stability, and thus expression level. I think that for most parts, this is unlikely to be the case, but for safety my inclination would be to make "with barcode" and "without barcode" versions until such time as we are able to confirm that barcode removal doesn't have an effect.
