Latest iMedia 2.5 changes #16

Please look at the "Files Changed" tab carefully; it should show that we're bringing in only the relevant changes from iMedia 2.5. We are missing the changes from this commit though:

I'm not sure how/if they apply to 3.0. Please can one of you 3.0 chaps figure that out?

Joerg, I've done another merge so that this is ready to merge in a decent chunk of recent iMedia changes.
