camera scales CPU up and "forgets" to scale it back (Samsung Galaxy Spice) #608

Hi!
I am very sorry to highjack this forum for a request on a completely different
product of i-p-tel. Sadly I did not find a way to get in touch with the
developers of the ambient light sensor, so I hope the way via the Sipdroid
forum might help.
First I like both softwares very much: SipDroid (which gave me a bit of a hard
time with configuration which was not the softwares fault but the fault of my
SIP provider) and the the ambient light sensor, which helps a lot on my
light-sensor lacking samsung spica.
Sadly there is one problem with the spica: as soon as it uses the camera, it
scales the CPU to performance mode and "forgets" to scale it back to
conservative mode. Could you actually find a way to add this backscaling into
the light sensor app? There is one app providing a work-around:
http://samsungfw.wordpress.com/2010/07/11/cools-a-great-app-for-your-spica-impro
ving-battery-life/ but it becomes active only when the screen goes to stand-by.
Suitable for most of the applications but not if the camera is started
everytime the screen is unlocked.

Thanks a lot and sorry for the inconvenience :)
Benedikt

Would be nice after a video conference too :-)

Do you know how it works? Is this open-source?

sorry, I do not know anything else besides the fact that CoolS does the job :)
The source appears to be the following website:

-clock/

Maybe this helps?
ciao, Benedikt
