According to the following section, the definition of uncertainty is used for extended product support.
This allows grids to span the expected range of data products from raw, full resolution grid to final compiled product.
With the introduction of a further standard that is not intended for navigation, this section must be revised.
The BSH strongly recommends that the S-102 should only be regarded as a final compiled product. The delivery of raw data in a navigation product poses a risk to maritime navigation.
In this context, the use of uncertainty in the S-102 should also be reconsidered.
