I have a number of projects that can not be opensourced at the moment, however I would still very much like reporting on documentation (such a wonderful idea!).

Thanks, I take that as a compliment!

Are you aware of Inch and InchJS? They are the command-line tools which power Inch CI and can be used locally, from the comfort of your own $HOME.

stefanahman commented 9 years ago

@rrrene But it is not possible to have a badge visible within the company for example. Or could you extract the badge code and generate an own badge?

naterkane commented 9 years ago

It is possible to render badges for private repos in github organizations.

rrrene commented 9 years ago

@stefanahman There is Inch Badge.

Maybe you are able to write a script/gem that uses inch-badge to generate badges locally?

rrrene commented 9 years ago

@naterkane That sounds like it should not be possible. The CI system should not be able to clone private GitHub repos. could you elaborate?

ericboehs commented 9 years ago

I'd also like a paid service for private repos. I'm looking into generating my own inch badge but don't really want to spin up a new app server just for badge compilation and hosting.

Hi there, sorry for replying so late. I was at EuRuKo giving my very first talk about Inch & Inch CI. The response was completely overwhelming and it seems there are a couple of people who are interested in this as a paid service for private repositories, so I will have to think about the right way to do that.

If you have any more suggestions, please let me know! Maybe I should start by setting up a landing page where people can leave their e-mail / twitter handle to be notified when this becomes available?

Please do
