add option to block power save mode #24

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago

Could it be possible to add an option to setting which would block all power
save actions (e.g. disabling backlight, locking the device) while reading the
text?

The situation is that during church service I want to follow the text while the
preacher is preaching.

I have been very cautious with the architecture so as to make And Bible a well
behaved application but we could explore this idea in the future.

If you would like to experiment and submit a patch we could consider it for
inclusion with the proviso that And Bible should be well behaved.

Grab the Android App 'Tasker' and create a profile for And Bible. You can then
set the timeout to whatever you want. It works very nicely.

Tasker ... costs £3.99 but alas ...

"This app is incompatible with your Unknown Scroll Excel."

Not tried any, but the list of mini reviews may be of some use.

A user (Steve) found a free app called "screen on" in Play Store which keeps
the screen on for certain apps.

However, I hope to add a Timeout setting specific to And Bible in the release
after next.

I added the ability to set the timeout a long time ago so am closing this issue.
