maybe instead have an arena where it happens? can setup a script trigger to toggle the pvp flag when inside; so you dont get the down filled with ppl attacking each other

I like the arena setup better. Although I'm thinking that, maybe for PvP outside of the arena, duels?
Also, need some flags so that PvP enabled players can only attack other PvP enabled players that have designated an opponent. That way multiple people can't just gang up on one player.
Player-Player healing items should also not work between players. Otherwise you'll have players who will have their buddies hide somewhere and pop out when PvP starts.
I don't know if I like the idea of losing everything, though. Runescape had a great system for duels where, before entering the arena, you had to choose what you were going to "bet" in PvP.
Just, please no "wilderness" areas like Runescape. Something structured rather than "let's go here" because, for one, there is no targeting, it'd be like CoD on Hardcore for a majority < 18 y/o audience. There would be so much whining in the game. :P
Anyway, IMO PvP should not be a priority of any significance, and certainly not a "main feature." It's an unneeded mechanic that can make or break a community and the game itself. I've seen games that were never meant to have PvP just screw themselves over.

Players can allow each other to PVP for 15 minutes. The loot you drop on die is your inventory.
