Use Git for source-control #38

I would like to see whether there is potential to migrate the project from svn
to Git?

The reasoning being that is might make it easier for working with other forks
of the project and pulling changes back in?

I would not object moving to GitHub.

We can actually use Git on Google Code, so we can maintain the same home. Any
advantages of GitHub vs Git on Google Code?

GitHub is way better than Google Code in my opinion. Although my views do not
necessarily reflect those of my employer.

GitHub is great because of:

- Pull requests!!! It's an awesome social collaborative process. Here's an
example:
https://github.com/pagespeed/ngx_pagespeed/pull/621#issuecomment-35413724

- You can edit the source code on the website.

- Reputation and community. People love GitHub.

I really like git more than svn, and github for the win for exactly what was
mentioned above. Pull requests are a great thing. Also there are already
several people who have put some version of this on github. From a search of
"ganymed ssh2" there are 13 Java projects.

The day this project goes up on GitHub is the day I start contributing to the
project :-)

I have moved to https://github.com/dkocher/sshj and no longer plan to
contribute to Ganymed.

Would you be okay for someone else to replace you as project lead, assuming
some one wants to?

What's the difference between ganymed and sshj? Why do we need two projects
doing the same thing?

I was wondering the same thing. I also noticed that the one linked to in here
is a fork. I'm confused.

+1 for any form of git. Don't care if it's github or google code but I have a
slight perference for the former.
