Hidden search folder #77

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Drag search folder onto open window (away from search engine list).

What do you expect to happen? What do you see instead?

Expect; nothing. Happens; folder and contained search engines disappear and
cannot be restored.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system and
Firefox version?

v1.7, Win7, Ff 16.0.2

What other add-ons are you using?

Alot...

Please provide any additional information below.

Removing this add-on restores the search engines but removes the folders
(obviously), but upon reinstalling the old folder structure is restored along
with the problem.

The folder structure is saved inside the "organize-search-engines.rdf" file at
the root of Firefox's profile folder.

The issue you reported already happened to me, so now I make a backup of the
aforementioned file, and if something goes wrong I just have to exit Firefox,
restore the backup, then restart Firefox.

To work around your issue, I suggest you delete the file (with Firefox closed),
then restart Firefox, recreate the folder structure you want in OSE, then make
a backup.
