The noted recipe is for off-line messages - e.g. how to manipulate MIME message when it's already downloaded to client. I'm not sure if IMAP provides similar capabilities - e.g. delete/replace message part remotely on the server ( a quick look does not reveal such commands) . Thunderbird has some possibilities like this (detach.. and delete) for attachments, but not sure how they work (if only locally or also on server). Anyhow for now I'll not have time to look into it.
Hi Ivan,
Currently, imap_detach offers options to perform the IMAP actions of deleting, moving, and marking a message as read. Could you add an option to perform the IMAP action of stripping the attachments while leaving the rest of a message on the server? Something along the lines of this recipe. Thanks!
