Hello, this would be a big feature request but if possible could someone implement theHaiku operating system's MediaKit as a new backend for jack. This would great for porting more audio based applications for Haiku which it's goal is to be a multimedia os. Here are some references: https://api.haiku-os.org https://www.haiku-os.org/development https://www.haiku-os.org/legacy-docs/bebook/

If someone in the jack team would like to discuss with me to figure out a few issues, I will take this ticket myself. I tried to get in touch in the jack2 ml but apparently with no success. At this point I don't think the jack2 project is really interested into having an Haiku backend.

I'd really like to see JACK ported to Haiku.

Haiku doesn't have a DAW yet. It does have a Qt port so when we have both Qt and JACK it shouldn't be too hard to port qtractor to Haiku.
