Adding GitHub CI to test events and badge #42

This pull request will add GitHub CI to automate the testing of the events! I've also added a badge to the README so the green-ness can be shown proudly :)

@jamespjh I don't see actions triggering here - likely it needs to be someone like yourself to do the PR that has admin permissions to the repository. I think our best bet in this case is to merge and then I can follow up with another PR (given that the action would be live) if there are any issues. Let me know if that works!

I merged this, and it looks like the action is now Queued.
