Do you have some example movies/shows or some console output? I just tried to reproduce your issue by watching some Netflix produced movies and shows as well as some externally licensed ones an they all played fine. Maybe it's an issue with some other extension?
It only occurs when the extension is enabled, I've attached a console output below, really strange though as nothing is appearing, however some shows do work perfectly fine too.
The movies I've tried viewing that didn't work are below. By the looks of it, it's only recently added movies/shows affected.
Jackass: The Movie Jackass: Number Two The Truman Show Bee Movie Mask Deep Impact
I tried to play some of those movies and they seem to exhibit the same problem that was already discussed here i.e. they are only playing in 480p (for me at least). What browser (version and OS) are you using? I'm guessing that Netflix uses a different kind of DRM for these licensed movies, which is not available on Chrome, so it's not possible to play those titles in 1080p anyway. That does not answer the question why the movies don't play at all for you, though, so maybe it's something about your browser.
I'm currently using Google Chrome v84.0.4147.135 (64bit) on Windows 10 2004 (Build 19041.450). It is pretty strange as to why they don't play either while the extension is loaded, but when the extension is disabled they will play at 480p for me as well. Probably is a completely different DRM which it could maybe conflict with the extension?
I'm on Linux which has less support for DRM, so maybe that's why the movies play for me but not for you. I saw that Netflix updated their cadmium playercore again. Maybe if we update and patch the latest version, it will work again (on Windows at least). I'll see what I can do.
I tried, but updating the playercore does not seem to solve the low resolution problem. I'm afraid we might just be stuck with low resolution content for now. Maybe it solves your playback error, though.
Alright, I'll try it out. Quite a few of them films are old so the resolution might not be high for them anyway.
I just tried it on Windows myself, and apparently it actually works perfectly now. I can watch The Truman Show for example in perfect Full HD without any issues. It seems like the low resolution thing really is a Linux-only problem (maybe macOS too idk).
Zero issues for me too, seems to be perfectly fine with the update. Thanks for your work
By looks of it, a patch has been sent out on Netflix and both Netflix-1080p extensions have stopped working, causing the following error. It also looks like the previous developer has stopped maintaining the extensions unfortunately.
