Feature request: inhomogeneous direction support #59

Please consider providing either a runtime (preferred) or compile time (okay) 
option to turn off the FFT for the stride-1 direction in wave space.  This 
would allow library users to employ Chebyshev or B-spline discretizations to 
handle inhomogeneous numerics wall-normal directions.
