Could not create app using openshift web console #4

When trying to use the https://raw.github.com/jboss-fuse/fuse-openshift-cartridge/master/metadata/manifest.yml link in the web console, I get the following error:

End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on the last disk(s) of this archive. unzip: cannot find zipfile directory in one of fuse-fabric-7.3.0.redhat-307.zip or fuse-fabric-7.3.0.redhat-307.zip.zip, and cannot find fuse-fabric-7.3.0.redhat-307.zip.ZIP, period.

After yesterday's commits by gnodet the error is now different:

/usr/bin/erb:115:in `read': No such file or directory - /var/lib/openshift/52ce32114382ec241c00016d/fuse//versions/1.0.0/etc/org.apache.karaf.management.cfg.erb (Errno::ENOENT) from /usr/bin/erb:115:in `run' from /usr/bin/erb:140

Thank you, now adding the application through https://openshift.redhat.com/app/console/application_types worked fine!

I get a similar error to the one mentioned above using Openshift Origin VirtualBox version for both web console and command line "rhc create-app":

Should this work with Openshift Origin?

Ah yeah a new build 341 was just done today and are in the staging repo. Its waiting to be promoted, and when that happens the 341 .zip is downloadable.

The previous build 340 or 337 would work.

So if you have bit of patience then when 341 is promoted then the OS cartridge works

Okay there was a problem with 341. We have switched back to last good known which is 337.

The cartridge should work again on OS.

Except.. When I access the Fuse application in OS I get a somewhat.. different.. view than in the demo at http://vimeo.com/80625940. I attached a screen shot. My application does not contain Camel bundles/features at all for one. Nor any runtime container management tabs.

From what I see in the screenshot you don't have the fabric perspective available. AFAIR, this perspective is made available when fabric has started up and the container has provisioned. If you wait a bit longer I think that you'll get the perspective.

I have the same problem this morning, and logged a ticket https://issues.jboss.org/browse/FABRIC-869

There is instructions how to resolve this in the FABRIC-869 ticket, which is basically

SSH into the container Access the Fuse CLI And create the fabric with --clean option to re-create the fabric

I still have this problem on my Openshift VirtualBox environment with build 1.0.0.redhat-357. I created the whole VirtualBox environment again and followed the instructions in https://issues.jboss.org/browse/FABRIC-869 but it gave me the following error:

I tried a second time to run "fabric:create --clean" but it gave the same error.

I see in the logs that the curator framework is starting, but I see no indication that it started. The end result is that the operation times out.

Could you paste your env?

What I am not really getting, is where broker-a12a31.openshift.local comes from. I would expect that with the current environment setup it would try to connect to fabric8-test.openshift.local.

broker-a12a31.openshift.local is the name of the "parent" (I am new to Openshift and not sure what the correct term is) instance. Fabric should attempt to connect to fabric8-test.openshift.local which is the OPENSHIFT_GEAR_DNS. I am not sure why it tries to connect to the parent instead. Is it possible to zip that containers etc and data folders and send it to me?

I sent you my fabric8-test gear's /etc and /var/lib/openshift/53107184c980122890000002/app-root/data directories. I could not get all files from /etc because I do not know how to get root access on gear.

Umm.. now I am not quite sure what you mean. Do you mean the Openshift VirtualBox's /etc and /var/named/data directories? I sent you those just now. I hope it doesn't matter if the hostname (broker-b25182) is different from before (broker-a12a31) because I tried this now on different workstation - with the same results.
