Red screen launching a JAP-NTSC game over SCART #202

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Connect your Wii with a SCART cable to your TV.
2. Rip a japanese NTSC game (here for e.g. Naruto7) to your USB disc.
3. Lunch it over wiicoverflow with settings: lang=japanese / force NTSC=yes

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The expected output is the game lunches and I can play it.

Instead over SCART the screen is RED and the game lunches in a weird RED color.
! (Connecting the Wii over the cinch cabel brings a normal view.) !

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

WiiCoverflow: RC5
Rev: 10
SysMenu: 4.0e

Please provide any additional information below.

It's a german Wii.

This is a common error on most loaders, and also happens when trying to display
other NTSC games on a pal console through RGB-Scart cable (even if you try to
force
PAL60).

The sillyest thing is that this problem was fixed some months ago by wiipower,
who
made a new video patching method that works flawlessly with a RGB-Scart and
NTSC and
PAL games, but none other loader has implemented his method which actually is
better.

Here you have his 2 usb loaders:
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=144740&st=0

One forces NTSC games to run in PAL 60 RGB and the other one forces PAL games
(probably PAL 60) to NTSC. He published his code so that every coder could use
it,
but I can't find it now.

Please, implement his video mode patches into your loader. It is my favourite
one,
but I must keep going back to wiipowers loader each time I want to play an NTSC
game.

Thanks in advance for your attention, and come on... Keep going!

;-)

P.S: I'm attaching the usb loader I use to load NTSC games.

Don't know why, but I can't edit my previous message. Here it is the full
archive of
wipowers loader including the source code (I think it will be helpfull for you).

Hello!

Unfortunately, the links do not work, and I would really like to solve the problem, do you know where else I can get this program?
